The Heart of ZH: A Story of Survival and Unity

Between Two Shores

ZoeHamian isn’t just a brand; it’s my autobiography in fabric. My story begins with a woman’s courage and a choice made in the face of impossible odds. Conceived in Haiti during a season of hardship, I was a life that some didn't want to see come to pass. But my mother chose differently. She ran. She carried me across the water, counting the months of her pregnancy and the hours of my delivery in the Bahamas.

Blood and the Soil

Haiti runs through my veins, the legacy of the first nation to fight for its freedom. It is my strength. The Bahamas is where I was carried; it is the land that held my mother through her pain and allowed me to take my first breath.

I am fully aware of the history and the tension between these two nations. My goal isn't to rewrite history or change anyone’s mind. My story is simpler than that: It’s about a woman who did what she had to do to survive. She wasn't a disturbance; she was a worker, a mother, and a survivor hiding from authorities who didn't approve of her existence.

Choosing Peace Over Disagreement

We cannot judge the choices of those who are simply trying to make it to tomorrow. Today, and every day moving forward, I choose peace and unity. I celebrate the resilience of Haiti and the beauty of the Bahamas. ZoeHamian is a celebration of that survival. It’s for the islanders, the dreamers, and everyone in between who believes that our shared humanity is deeper than any ocean that divides us.

The Name We Claimed

For our future and current supporters who are unaware about the name ZoeHamian. Here's a short update on what it means, and where it comes from.

Zoe: A nod to the strength and cultural identity of the Haitian people.

Hamian: Drawn from the heart of the word Bahamian.

ZoeHamian isn't new. It’s a word, name, and saying whispered in our streets and shared in our slang. But I didn’t just "create" a brand name; I CLAIMED it!

I chose to run with this name because, for me, it is deeper than a common saying. It is the literal map of my existence. By bringing these two identities together under one banner, I am turning past pain and fear into present power. I’m sharing what this combination means to me a story of survival, a story of a mother’s courage, and a living example that hope has a heartbeat.

Welcome to the family. We celebrate life, success, and the courage to exist.
